POPIA for Agencies and Web Developers
March 5 @ 09:00 - 12:00 SAST
As a web agency or web development house, you are constantly dealing with the “front-end” of businesses and their web presence. Every South African client you have will need to comply with POPIA (the Protection of Personal Information Act) and to do that there are a number of requirements that will take place on their sites. Join Ross for an interactive workshop around the requirements that your clients will have and what your responsibility as their agent will be.
No doubt you have already had a number of queries around privacy policies and marketing consent, but there are more requirements than just this. In this workshop you will learn:
- An introduction to POPIA and its requirements
- How consent and mailing lists need to change
- Why cookie notices are important and what they should include
- Additional security measures that are required on databases and backends
- Opportunities for maintenance contracts to be expanded
- How to advise your own clients on POPIA requirements
The workshop will take place on the 5th of March 2020 on Zoom, from 09:00 – 12:00. It is an interactive workshop, so bring your questions along! To ensure that we have valuable engagement, the training will take a maximum of 30 people.
A link to join will be emailed along with your registration ticket. As a backup, the password to attend the online meeting will be sent to registered attendees on Thursday the 4th of March. You MUST have registered to receive the password.
